Actually, Sir Wilfrid Robarts is not yet well enough to defend Leonard Vole before a London jury. But the famous lawyer cannot resist the lure of the case: Leonard Vole is accused of having made advances on the wealthy widow Emily French out of greed and of murdering her. And of all people, Vole's wife Christine appears as a witness for the prosecution.
